Tresor Orange1's DTM campaign continues at Norisring

July 6, 2023

06.07.2023 - Tresor Orange1’s DTM program continues, and next weekend the team will take to the track at the Norisring (GER) for one of the most unique events of the 2023 season.

For the round that brings DTM back to Germany after the Dutch race at Zandvoort, the Italian team will field their two Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II cars, driven by Mattia Drudi (ITA) with number #40 and Patric Niederhauser (CH) with number #83. The objective is to continue improving and continue the momentum of what was shown in the last event, although the unusual characteristics of the circuit will make this challenge particularly unpredictable.

The Norisring is a street circuit located in the southeastern urban area of Nuremberg, specifically in the Dutzendteich area. Measuring 2,300 meters, this circuit is characterized by a double straight interrupted only by the S-curve in the second part of the lap. The first braking point is the Alpha Kurve, while the Dutzendteich-Kurve concludes the lap and provides opportunities for overtaking.

The weekend will begin on Friday with two free practice sessions at 11:25 and 16:30. Due to the short track length, the qualifying sessions will be divided into two groups to minimize traffic issues. On Saturday, the qualifying sessions will take place at 9:35 and 10:00, preceding race one scheduled for 13:30. On Sunday, qualifying sessions will be at 9:20 and 9:45, followed by race two at 13:30.

Ferdinando Geri (Team Principal, Tresor Orange1):
“It is difficult to make predictions for the Norisring. This is a really unique racetrack where we will be racing for the first time. Once again, the qualifying sessions could be a key moment of the weekend, but I also expect intense duels and plenty of overtaking opportunities. It will require determination, decisiveness and a bit of luck. I am confident that, as always, the entire team will give their best to achieve a good result”.

As with every round of the series, Prosieben and Sport1 will broadcast the two races live in Germany, while the official DTM channel will provide continuous video updates from the circuit.
