Tresor Orange1 Racing heading to Zandvoort for the second round of DTM 2023

June 21, 2023

21.06.2023 - One month after its debut in the popular German series, Tresor Orange1 Racing is ready to hit the track again for the second round of the 2023 DTM, scheduled for this coming weekend at the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands.

The Italian team will field two Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II cars, driven by Mattia Drudi (ITA) with number #40 and Patric Niederhauser (CH) with number #83. The team, coordinated by Ferdinando Geri with the support of Orange 1, has worked intensively in recent weeks to analyze the issues that emerged during the Oschersleben round and extract positive insights for a decisive change of pace.

The round at Zandvoort is an important occasion, as it is one of the two races outside of Germany. The Dutch track, recently reintegrated into the Formula 1 calendar, belongs to the category of historical circuits that have carved out a special place in the hearts of fans. Renowned for its banked curves, Zandvoort measures 4.259 meters and features a highly driver-oriented layout where starting at the front can make a difference, as overtaking is not always easy. Another characteristic often found among these corners is the presence of sand in the air, as the circuit is located near the sea.

The weekend will begin on Friday with two practice sessions scheduled for 12:20 and 16:00. On Saturday, the drivers will be contesting Q1 at 9:35 and race one at 13:30. On Sunday, Q2 is scheduled for 9:15, followed by race two at 13:30. The two challenges will be broadcast live on Prosieben and Sport1 in Germany, while the official DTM channel will provide continuous video updates from the circuit.

Ferdinando Geri (Team Principal, Tresor Orange1 Racing):
“The level of competition in this DTM season is very high and, to stand out, a significant effort from everyone will be required, both the drivers and all the guys in the pit. We have worked extensively after Oschersleben to analyze the data and understand where there is room for improvement. We have a highly competitive package and will try to seize every opportunity to achieve a good result. Zandvoort is a challenging track and overtaking is not easy, so speed in qualifying will also be crucial”.
