Tresor Competition on the podium at Nürburgring at the end of a great weekend

July 31, 2023

31.07.2023 - A third overall position and a second place in the Silver Cup rewarded Tresor Competition's efforts at the Nürburgring during the fourth round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup.

The Italian team entered three Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II cars for this important event. Car #40 saw Mattia Drudi (RSM), Ricardo Feller (CH) and Dennis Marschall (GER) alternating behind the wheel as representatives of Tresor Orange1. Car #99 competed in the Silver Cup with Alex Aka (GER), Lorenzo Patrese (ITA) and Pietro Delli Guanti (ITA) under the San Lorenzo livery, while car #66 in the Bronze Cup was entrusted to Andrey Mukovoz, Dylan Pereira (LUX) and Kikko Galbiati (ITA) sporting the IWS colours. Both car #99 and car #66 competed as part of Tresor Attempto Racing.

The weekend proved to be particularly challenging, made more difficult by the unstable weather conditions, especially on Saturday. From the free practice sessions, the team's technicians developed setups suitable for the low-grip conditions.

During the qualifying sessions, the #40 lineup secured an excellent fifth performance with a total time of 2'09.983s, confirming their position at the front of the grid. The #99 was equally effective, with the three drivers posting a cumulative time of 2'11.784s, earning them the third position in the Silver Cup. However, the #66 faced some difficulties, only managing to secure the fifteenth place in the Bronze Cup (2'14.722s).

The race saw all three crews making impressive comebacks, thanks to the skilful driving and effective strategies employed by the team. Drudi, Feller and Marschall took turns behind the wheel of Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II #40 and crossed the finish line in third place, an important podium finish for the championship standings.

Equally exciting was the performance of car #99, which capitalized on every opportunity with the speed of Patrese, Delli Guanti and Aka. The young crew secured an important second place in the Silver category and eighteenth overall after completing three hours and 92 laps.

Car #66 also staged a remarkable comeback, starting from the back of the grid and gaining numerous positions through spectacular overtaking moves and well-timed pit stops. Mukovoz, Pereira and Galbiati managed to climb up seven positions and finished in eighth place in their category, earning valuable points.

Ferdinando Geri (Team Principal):"It was a
race in which the entire team demonstrated remarkable determination and composure. All three crews performed exceptionally well in challenging conditions, making the most of the cars and opportunities with great determination. We improved our starting positions in all categories and seized the chances that came our way without letting any setbacks hinder us. This important result allows us to leave the Nürburgring with a more favourable position in the championship standings".
