Tresor Attempto Racing scores the first points at Paul Ricard

April 7, 2024
07.04.2024 - The first on-track appointment of Tresor Attempto Racing in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup, which took place over the past weekend at the Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet (FRA), concluded with a brilliant result, crowning a remarkable comeback.

The Italian team fielded three Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II cars: the #99 in Pro with the Orange 1 livery driven by Ricardo Feller (CH), Christopher Haase (GER), and Alex Aka (GER); the #88 in Gold Cup featuring San Lorenzo colours driven by Lorenzo Ferrari (ITA), Lorenzo Patrese (ITA), and Leonardo Moncini (ITA); and the #66 in Bronze entrusted to Andrey Mukovoz, Dylan Pereira (LUX) and Max Hofer (A) with the IWS livery.

In qualifying, the #99 struggled to put together a good lap due to the traffic and closed with the thirty-fifth overall performance and a combined time of 1’54.664s. The #88 secured the fifth position in the Gold Cup with the drivers concluding qualifying with a notable cumulative time of 1’55.201s. Meanwhile, the #66 qualified with the eighth-best Bronze performance in 1’54.578s.

During the race, it is worth highlighting the extraordinary comeback of Aka, Feller and Haase, who alternated at the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II in this order. The crew gained twenty-nine positions thanks to the determination of the drivers and the excellent strategy work from the pit wall. The #99 crossed the finish line in sixth place overall, securing the first important points for the championship.

The crew of #88 finished in fifth place in the Gold Cup after a solid performance by Patrese, Moncini and Ferrari, who made the most of a more challenging event than expected.

Unfortunately, Mukovoz, Hofer and Pereira had to retire around halfway through the race due to a contact that prevented them from continuing despite the excellent prospects and setup work done throughout the weekend.

Ferdinando Geri, Team Principal Tresor Attempto Racing:
"We scored the first points with a very positive performance from the #99 crew. After qualifying, which saw us quite far back, it was not a given result, but the whole team worked determinedly to allow the comeback. With the #88, we struggled a bit more than we had hoped for, but the drivers did well to keep a consistent pace, which allowed us to finish fifth in the category. It is a shame about the #66; surely we could have achieved a good result too”.
