Tresor by Car Collection heading to Zandvoort hunting for some further satisfaction

June 15, 2022
15.06.2022 – After the first pole position and the first podium of its sporting history, Tresor by CarCollection is gearing up for the third round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup 2022 that is scheduled for this coming weekend at the Dutch circuit of Zandvoort. The team will field the two Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo, namely the #11 and #12 that will be driven by Simon Gachet (FRA)-Christopher Haase (GER) and Mattia Drudi (ITA)-Luca Ghiotto (ITA). The goal for these pairings is to confirm themselves among the protagonists of this very high-level and highly spectacular series. The circuit of Zandvoort measures 4.259 meters and is one of the most twisty of the whole season. It features very few straights and a lot of driven corners, including a banked turn that ends the lap. The circuit is located a few tenths of meters from the north coast of Amsterdam and it always has a thin layer of sand that makes it particularly tricky. The starting straight is slightly uphill and leads to the Tarzanbocht right-handing hairpin. The first sector allows to build some speed, but at the beginning of the second sector, the circuit starts to be more driven from the Scheivlak corner. The final sector starts with the Hans Ernst Bocht, which is the slowest part of the circuit that leads into the banked right-hander that rejoins the start/finish straight.Free practice will kick off the weekend on Friday at 10:00 and will be followed by Pre-Qualifying at 14:50 (both sessions of 1h20m). The double challenge on Saturday will begin with Q1 at 9:45, while race-one will be at 14:00. The same program will be followed on Sunday with Q2 at 9:30 and race-two again at 14:00.The races will be available through the streaming from the official YouTube channel of the championship, while SKyGO, NOW and Sky Sport will cover the event on TV with a schedule still to be announced.
Ferdinando Geri (Team Principal):
“Zandvoort is a very challenging and old-fashioned racetrack. It is narrow and twisty, with some banked or not flat corners. Drivers love racing here, but it requires a lot of setup work because the cars are challenged by continuous direction changes and have to jump up and down the kerbs. It is going to be a tough challenge for all of us, but we are resolute to keep the positive momentum in our debut season in the championship”.
